New & Replacement Gutters in East London
Whether your old gutters have rusted through, cracked in the sun or were never fitted properly, or you're adding a garage, carport or extension, we measure up, recommend the right system and fit gutters and downpipes that carry the water away from the house.

When it's time to replace
Gutters don't fail all at once. Galvanised gutters rust from the inside where water and leaves sit. PVC fades and becomes brittle after years of strong sun. Joints that have been resealed twice start leaking again. And some houses simply have gutters that are too small for the roof, so they overflow in every heavy storm no matter how clean they are.
New work is the other half of it: a garage, carport, patio roof or extension that was built without gutters, where the rain now pours straight off the edge onto paving, into flowerbeds or against a wall.
Choosing a material
| Material | Good for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| PVC | Light, doesn't rust, economical, easy to repair later | Limited colours; can become brittle after many years of harsh sun |
| Colour-coated steel | Strong, wide colour range to match the roof and fascias | Can rust at cut edges and scratches, especially close to the sea |
| Aluminium | Doesn't rust, light and long-lasting; well suited to coastal homes | Costs more than PVC |
We'll recommend one based on how close you are to the sea, the colour of your roof and fascias, and your budget. All three are sectional systems: standard lengths joined with sealed connectors, which also means a damaged section can be replaced later without redoing the whole run.
Getting the size and layout right
The size of the gutter and the number of downpipes depend on the area of roof draining into each run. Long runs need more than one outlet, and downpipes need to sit where the water can go somewhere sensible: a drain, a soakaway, a paved channel or a rainwater tank, and never into the sewer. We plan that at the measure-up, not on the day.
How an installation works
- Measure-up and quote. We measure every run, check the fascias and agree the material, colour and downpipe positions with you. You get a fixed quote before any work is booked.
- Old gutters off. Existing gutters and downpipes are removed and taken away.
- Fascias checked. Gutters are only as good as the board they hang on. If a fascia is rotten or loose, we'll point it out before we fit anything.
- Brackets to a string line. Every bracket is set so the run falls evenly to its outlet.
- Gutters, corners, end caps and outlets fitted and sealed.
- Downpipes clipped to the wall with the discharge directed away from the house.
- Water test. We run water through the system to check the fall and the joints before we leave.
Pricing
Every installation is quoted as a fixed price after a free measure-up. The price depends on the length of the runs, the number of corners and downpipes, the material you choose and access (single or double storey). WhatsApp us a photo of the house and a rough idea of the job to arrange the measure-up.
Areas we cover
We work across East London and the coastal suburbs: Gonubie, Nahoon, Beacon Bay, Bonnie Doon, Vincent, Berea, Winterstrand, Sunnyridge, Kidd's Beach and Cove Rock. Outside these areas? Message us anyway.
New Gutters FAQs
Do you install seamless gutters?
We install sectional systems in PVC, colour-coated steel and aluminium. Fitted with sealed joints and the right fall, they work well, and a damaged section can be replaced on its own later.
Which material is best close to the sea?
PVC and aluminium don't rust, so they're the usual choice for homes near the beach. Colour-coated steel works too, but cut edges and scratches can rust in salty air.
Do you remove the old gutters?
Yes. Removing and taking away the old gutters and downpipes is part of a replacement job.
