Gutter & Downpipe Repairs in East London
Most gutter problems start small: a joint that drips, a bracket that lets go, a downpipe that blocks. Left alone, each one sends water where it shouldn't go, down the wall, into the fascia board or against the foundation. We find the cause, fix it properly and check the rest of the system while we're up there.

Signs your gutters need attention
- Water pouring over the edge in heavy rain instead of running to the downpipe.
- Drips at the joints, corners or end caps long after the rain has stopped.
- A gutter pulling away from the fascia, or sagging between brackets.
- Water standing in the gutter days after rain, a sign the fall is wrong.
- Rust spots or holes in older galvanised or steel gutters.
- A split, loose or overflowing downpipe, or water splashing against the wall at its foot.
- Damp patches, peeling paint or stained fascias directly below the gutter line.
What we repair
- Leaking joints and end caps resealed, or the connector replaced if the seal has perished.
- Loose and missing brackets replaced, extra brackets added where the spacing is too wide, and the fall reset.
- Damaged or rusted sections cut out and replaced with a matching profile in PVC, colour-coated steel or aluminium.
- Downpipes cleared, re-joined, re-clipped to the wall or replaced, including bends and offsets.
- Outlets that have come loose or are too small for the run.
- Downpipe discharge redirected away from the walls with a shoe, bend or channel.
- Gutter guards fitted where trees keep filling the gutters.
The fall: the problem most repairs miss
A gutter has to run at a slight, even fall towards each outlet. When a bracket fails or was never there, the gutter dips between supports and forms a low spot. Water sits there after every shower, leaves and silt settle in it, the extra weight pulls the gutter down further, and the joint nearest the dip starts to leak.
Resealing that joint on its own won't last. We run a string line along the gutter, reset the brackets so the whole run falls towards the outlet again, and then seal the joints. Then we run water through it to check it drains before we come down.
Repair or replace?
If the gutter is sound and only a few joints or brackets have failed, a repair is the sensible choice. If galvanised gutters have rusted through in several places, PVC has gone brittle and cracks when you touch it, or the same run keeps leaking after every repair, replacing it usually costs less over the next few years. We'll tell you which one we think makes sense. See new and replacement gutters.

Gutter Repairs FAQs
Can you match my existing gutters?
Usually, yes. Most homes have one of a few standard profiles in PVC, colour-coated steel or aluminium. If your profile is no longer made, we'll tell you and discuss replacing that run.
Can you connect a downpipe to a rainwater tank?
Yes. We can route a downpipe into a tank with a leaf screen at the inlet.
Do you clean the gutters as well?
Yes. Many repairs start with a clean, because you can't see a leaking joint under a gutter full of leaves. See our gutter cleaning page.
