Window Cleaning in Stilbaai

The view is half the reason for a house at the coast, and salt haze is what takes it away. After months with the house closed up, sea-facing glass goes milky, sliding doors grind on sand in their tracks and the balustrades show every mark. We clean the lot with pure water from the ground, before you arrive.

Window cleaning with a water-fed pole and pure water

What months of sea air do to glass

Every onshore breeze leaves a little salt on the seaward side of the house. Dew dissolves it overnight and the sun dries it back on in the morning, so the film builds up one layer at a time. In a house that is lived in, someone wipes the sliding doors now and then. In a house that stands closed from January to December, nobody does, and the haze has months to harden.

Wind-blown sand adds to it. Fine sand collects in the bottom channels of aluminium sliding doors and windows, where it mixes with salt and wears down the rollers. The door that sticks on the first day of the holiday usually isn't broken. Its track just needs cleaning.

What's included

  • All exterior glass: windows, sliding and stacking doors, fixed panes and skylights.
  • Frames, sills and door tracks cleared of sand and salt so the sliders run smoothly again.
  • Glass balustrades on stoeps and balconies, which take the worst of the salt.
  • A pure-water finish, so there is no soap film left to attract new dirt.

Inside glass is quoted separately because it needs access into the house. It's worth adding to a pre-season clean so the whole house is ready. Just mention it when you ask for a quote.

Why we use a water-fed pole

We clean with purified water fed up a water-fed pole to a soft brush. The water carries next to no dissolved minerals, so it dries clear without a squeegee or a cloth. From the ground we reach double-storey glass, so there are no ladders against your walls or gutters and nobody standing in your garden beds.

When to book

Before you arrive for the December season is the obvious time, so the view is clear on the first morning. If the house is let, a clean between bookings keeps the guest reviews up. After the season, a clean before the house is locked up stops next year's haze from building on top of summer's fingerprints and sea spray.

Pricing starts from R550 for the exterior glass on an average single-storey home. The number of panes and sliders, glass balustrades and storeys set the final price. WhatsApp us a few photos and we'll confirm the same day.

Areas we cover

We work across Stilbaai on both sides of the Goukou River, in Stilbaai West and Stilbaai East, as well as Jongensfontein and Melkhoutfontein. Further along the coast or inland? Ask us. We can often fit it in.

Window Cleaning FAQs, Stilbaai

Can you clean my windows while I'm away?

Yes. Exterior glass doesn't need anyone at home. If you also want the inside done, we'll arrange access with you when you book.

My sliding door sticks. Can you help?

Most sticking sliders in coastal homes are caused by sand and salt packed into the bottom track. We clean the tracks as part of every window clean. If a roller is actually broken, we'll tell you so you can have it repaired.

How high can you reach?

Double-storey glass from the ground with the water-fed pole, which covers most homes in Stilbaai and Jongensfontein.

How much does window cleaning cost in Stilbaai?

From R550 for the exterior glass on an average single-storey home. Send a few photos on WhatsApp and we'll confirm a fixed price the same day.
